After our convincing win against Cardiff last week we’re once again in Principality Premiership action this week when we face the All White’s in what’s likely to be a pulsating contest at St Helen’s.
For those of us at the “Parc” last Sunday [& boy was it cold!] we witnessed a super contest with both sides playing some attractive spring like rugby. It was a result that we needed and it keeps us in the hunt for one of the end of season play-off spots. Of course a lot can change and with five games left in the regular season it’s still very much all to play for.
Our next opponents are Swansea who are having a pretty miserable league campaign. Of course league positions are irrelevant when these two sides come together as history has shown. If you remember back at Xmas time we had a super contest when we ran out winners 28 –24 with Swansea really piling on the pressure at the end of the game. If this week’s game is anything like that even the forecast cold weather shouldn’t put off the supporters.
For their part Swansea have had some improved performances of late, they won in the league at Bridgend in early March and narrowly missed out on a Swalec Cup semi final spot going down last week to Aberavon. With five of their six remaining fixtures to be played on St Helen’s they will want to end the season on a high, and they’ll be looking to reverse the Xmas result and push on from there.
So it’s another local “Derby” to relish. Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
