LOST 15 - 20

Church Bank, Llandovery

Referee: Phil Connett (Wales)

Llandovery 20 :: Llanelli 15
Well we knew it would be a hard fought battle and on this occasion the Church Bank side took the spoils. Right from the start the home set their stall out by not opting for kickable penalties but going for position. It paid off for Llandovery in the 5th minute when from first phase possesssion centre Rhys Williams crossed near the posts for he games first try. Tomas Marks converted.

Debutant Jason Howells then got in on the act with a well worked try, which was quickly followed by another try from scrum half Gavin Cattle which followed from a series of close drives set up the the Llanelli forwards.

Just on the half, Tomas Marks slotted another penalty goal to take the sides in on level terms at 10 a piece.

From the second half kick off, Marks tried a chip over the top but it was gathered in his own half by new boy Jason Howells who showed gdd skills and pace to cross for a brilliant individual try.

Llandovery came back with a try, again by Rhys Williams, converted by Marks, and another penalty by the outside half completed the scoring mid way through the second half.

A disappointing result once again which means that a win next up at Wanderers is now absolutely essential if we are to maintain our challenge for league honours.
