Minus the experience of captain Craig Hawkins and prolific kicker Luke Richards, Llanelli came away from the Memorial ground with a fine bonus point win. Scott Sneddon supplied 18 points for the exciting Glamorgan Wanderers team with one try,two conversions and three penalties. Lightening quick, little Rory Budina scored a try and fellow wing Steve Cullen touched down with a superb team try.
Llanelli who seemed to be performing admirably up until the 43minute of the match (and perhaps unfortunate only to be leading 10-6) when scrum-half Gareth Davies was yellow carded under his own posts. Sneddon took the gift 3 points and master minded another two quick converted tries for 17 points against the 14 man Llanelli team during the 'yellow card ' period.
Down at 23-10, but two excellent tries from the impressive Steve Martin and Nick Reynolds plus a conversion from Dan Newton got Llanelli back within a point. Dan Newton kicked another penalty to restore the lead only to concede another flimsy defensive try with 6 minutes remaining. Llanelli again responded with good support play from 17 year old Dale Ford saw him touch down for the winning score. Sneddon missed a chance to win the match as he saw two drop goals sail wide but it was Llanelli's day who took the valuable 5 points.
