After our terrific win at the Arms Park last Saturday, we once again lock horns with Cardiff, but this time it’s in the Swalec Cup Semi Final. Yes, it was great to get one over on the capital side, but really this is the big one! No side playing in any sport at any level wants to lose at this stage in any tournament so whilst a slight psychological edge may have been earned last week, it will count for nothing next Sunday at St Helens.

The game has a scheduled kick off time of 2.30pm Sunday 18^th April.

Making no apologies for repeating myself, Llanelli have a fantastic record in this competition and having narrowly missed out last year, Craig and the boy’s will be going all out to get to the final again, and go one better and lift the trophy for the fourteenth time.

Cardiff themselves got to the final a couple of year’s ago but went down to Llandovery with the last play of the game and whilst many of the current team may not have featured in that game, it still hurts the club. They will want to put that right and with the quality in their squad we know they present a formidable challenge. Likewise, we have quality and pace in our squad that can cause problems for any side – something has to give !!

With the Scarlets / Blues game the previous day, common sense has prevailed and the semi final can now go ahead with hopefully good support from both sides enjoying fine weather and what should be a storming cup semi final played by two sides who look to play attractive rugby.
